Here at the Bede, we feel it is very important to be involved in supporting not only UM and the greater Miami community, but also to take part in global initiatives to make our world a more thriving and peaceful place. Because of this, we make our space available to promote many different initiatives in advancing philanthropy and social justice.
One of our biggest initiatives is Walk2Nicaragua, founded and carried in part by active members of our Chapel community. Walk2Nicaragua focuses on advancing educational resources and opportunities in rural Chacraseca, including but not limited to: building facilities such as libraries, providing classroom materials, and paying teacher salaries.
